Welcome to the Bistro at Vaxholm Fortress – an oasis in the heart of the archipelago. Tucked into a charming corner of the fortress courtyard, the Bistro offers a relaxed setting where modern flavors meet historical surroundings. On sunny days, we open up the courtyard with umbrellas and outdoor seating. On cooler days, we cozy up indoors beneath the vaulted arches.
As summer arrives, we move closer to the sea – to our waterfront gem, Sjöboden. Here, you can enjoy delicious food and drinks with the ocean at your feet and sailboats gliding by. It’s the perfect stop before or after visiting the museum, or a destination in itself. You’ll also find ice cream and classic Swedish “fika” treats here.
The menu at Bistro Kastellet & Sjöboden is crafted with care – there’s something here for everyone, young and old. Our specialty is pinsa, a crisp oval pizza topped with flavor-packed combinations that are sure to delight. Choose from timeless options like goat cheese with pear and balsamic, prosciutto with parmesan, or our sweet favorite with Nutella and strawberries.
